How old is Winston? As of June, 2021, we think he is 13 years old.

How much does he weigh? About 15 pounds.

How long is he? 4 feet even.

What is their life expectancy? 10-15 years in the wild and 20-25 years in captivity.

What do tegus eat? Tegus are omnivores / opportunistic eaters. They eat raw meats, fruits, veggies, eggs, fish, whole prey and insects. For a food list, please click here.

Are tegus a type of monitor? No. Although they resemble monitor lizards, they are only distantly related. Their similarities are a result of convergent evolution.

Where are tegus from? Tegus are from most parts of South America.

Do your dog and cats get along with Winston? My dog and cats are not around Winston for everyone’s safety. Winston could hurt them or the cats could bite him resulting a bad infection that could make him sick.
